Just like the rest of California, residents in Redding have witnessed their cost of living skyrocket, encompassing everything from energy and housing to the prices of basic goods and services. The first step is ensuring the availability of lower-cost energy choices, and next, we need to keep local taxes and fees low.
Medical Specialty Care
As a doctor who has served the families of this community for decades and volunteered time to provide care to military veterans, I am well aware of the struggles many face in finding local medical specialty care. We need to attract such care for our local residents so that patients no longer have to make the long trip to Sacramento, Davis, or San Francisco.
Public Safety
We must ensure that our police officers have the resources to perform their jobs effectively. Additionally, we must strengthen our partnerships with county, state, and federal agencies to stop fentanyl trafficking at its source. Lastly, while we should be compassionate towards unhoused individuals seeking help, we must also prioritize the protection of our schools and playgrounds. I advocate for a minimum 500-foot setback for any homeless camp or tent from schools and playgrounds. We need to keep our children and families safe.
Local Control
I am a strong supporter of local control. I have lived in Redding for over two decades and raised my children here. Billionaires from San Francisco and Silicon Valley, along with their lobbyists in Sacramento, run California—and they are trying to influence our community. It’s time to listen to real people instead. We need to safeguard local control and ensure that our voices and community are protected.
